Computational design optimization

To fold DNA strands into a target three-dimensional shape, One of the most important tasks is to determine DNA sequences required to fold them into the target shape. While a variety of design rules have been proposed for these structures with a complex shape, a substantial amount of trials and errors are still necessary for the design-synthesis-validation process. Currently, we have made efforts on expediting the design process of DNA nanostructures using design optimization algorithms. Given a target shape, we aim to provide optimal sequences to form DNA bundles with desired curvature and twist rate or mechanical properties. This automatic design system could expand available design space and make the top-down design of customized DNA nanostructures possible.
